Kairos Days Retreat

What happens at a retreat
This is very much up to you.
You can come for a day (suggested donation £20 including drinks) or stay for a minimum of two nights prices from £75 per night). You may wish to have a short retreat and continue to stay for a holiday.
It is helpful to think about what you are hoping for from your retreat. Jane will call you beforehand to help you plan your stay.
You might simply want time apart to relax, reflect, refresh, and refocus; a spiritual retreat; a quiet time to press pause on daily life, or an opportunity to take time out with God.
It is important not to bring your usual busy schedule with you so the day could be structured loosely with times in the day to connect more closely with God and space for activities you enjoy or are trying for the first time. Retreats here can be self-guided (or more structured) and you will find a folder of gentle reflective exercises for you to dip into.
In our first meeting here I might make a few suggestions unless you have your own intentions.
Around us you will find places to explore on foot or by bike (if you bring one)

-
there is a day spa locally where you could book a treatment in advance (it is very popular)
-
tea rooms for a sweet indulgence
-
if you like to swim you can find a pool a short drive away
-
the train from the village will take you to the coast for a walk along the prom
-
If you like getting your hands dirty there is always something to be done in the garden
-
there are materials for art and craft, jigsaws etc
-
yoga mats in the garden room for exercise
-
a labyrinth to walk in the garden
These kind of activities are really helpful on retreat as they don’t divert you away from your train of thought like reading a novel or going to the cinema would.

Jane offers:
-
evening prayer
-
meditation in the practice of WCCM (click link for more info)
-
a listening ear to help you reflect on your time here
In keeping with the ethos of retreat there is no television or radio in the shepherds hut.
You may enjoy the opportunity to cook for yourself during your stay and you will find the shepherds hut well equipped for self catering.
If you would find the cost of a retreat prohibitive there are small bursaries available through
